I beleive there should be a 3 flag style system, everytime u leave mid battle in a 24 hour period u get a flag, after 3 flags u cant join in Ra for 24 hours and receive some kind of punishment *such as Anti-farming code across your account) until the flags reset.

Yes i agree there are valid reasons to leave mid battle in Ra but frankly the majority of people dont have valid reasons. And for people who have disconnected there is the reconnect feature now (which works until the end of the battle), or if they disconnect alot then no offense to them but they really shouldnt be in an Arena in that case.

It's meant to be random, if people don't want to land in groups that could be disadvantaged (ie: without monks, etc.) they shouldn't do random arenas. It's not fair to those who are aware that it's random (hence the name, duh!) when others get mad at (their luck) the team make up and map out and try to see if their next team is better.

It's like when you're 8 years old and playing a board game and roll the dice and don't like the square you landed on, you bitch to re-roll so you don't get sent to jail, not passing go, not collecting $200. If people would just tough it out, who knows, they may even win with the team they think is doomed from the get go.

I don't want to hear "it's fun", it takes a masochist to enjoy playing alongside morons. I don't blame people for leaving at all.
And when you started Guild Wars, you weren't a newbie, you were already l33t and knew the game better than the Devs.

If ArenaNet doesn't want to punish people, they should at least have the dictionary definition of RANDOM fill the screen for 30 seconds so you can't say you didn't know, despite, the inability to form a party in the Random Arenas town should be a small floodlight in the darkness.

Random Arena?

One of those weird PvP things I haven't found yet.
I suppose it might be fun. Being coupled with completely random people has got to be more novel than all that other weirdarse, repetitive crap that most of the PvPers seem to be into....

But yeah.... people vanishing from RA?
Not half as much concern to me as people randomly leaving missions.... though admittedly, I tend to get DCed from missions a lot myself, which doesn't help at all.
Can't we get some sort of penalty for people randomly vanishing under ANY circumstances (besides dc)? Why the focus on some weird little PvP thing?

Why did this thread not get closed like all the other RA ragequitter threads? Cant believe people taking RA so seriously, maybe if they weren't running e/w hundred blades shock, or N/R power shot mm then they wouldnt encounter so many ragequitters. And of course there are tons of other valids reasons to ragequit what if ur team has 2 monks and a rit, you can win 10 but each match is gonna take like 20 minutes, and you'll most likely have a deadlock match. Why would you not quit if you have that, or if you're team has 3 wammos and the other team has a monk with frenzied defense and he tanks them for half an hour. Am i gonna watch these noobs fail? No, Im gonna leave and save some time.

PM admins or moderators why this topic is still opened... Don't like this thread? Oh, I'm sorry- there are bunch of other threads where you can post useless comments
And I'm taking RA as seriously as HA or GvG- got a problem with that?

I'm going to tell you a secret- if your party wins and is waiting for another battle to begin and you leave- your party gets another person in next round!
Just don't tell anyone, only pro's know about it

Then save your time, go to TA if you want party without w/mo, and save us- we don't want to read useless post... You said that you don't take RA seriously- then leave this topic and this conversation to ppl who care- you always bump when not wanted?

I like to use RA to test out builds. My retribution monk didn't work out too well >.>

Let people do what they want and let karma handle them.

I agree that there is a zillions good reasons you might quit (or lose connection), but only one that would demand that you played the exact same part of the game again within 10 minutes: If you tried to optimize your wins per time by quiting repeatedly until you got into a winner team.

For all the other reasons to leave prematurely, just think of the 10 minutes as still much less time that it usually takes to put together a team in any other part of the game.

There certainly should not be a penalty for leaving the game, HOWEVER, I do think it should be impossible to leave the first MATCH of RA until after 30 seconds has elapsed (people who leave right away if they don't like the make-up of the party are annoying). Additionally, the game should NEVER continue if a party member leaves. The timer should immediately re-set until another RA member is found to join your party.

De-couple RA with Glad Points and you won't have as many leavers. But I will leave if I see some scrub on my team with a 8 run/tank skills not having the slightest interest of playing the game.

My time is so much more precious than that.

But then again, getting banned from RA is not that big a deal, testing builds will just take a bit longer in AB.

I am not a bigtime PvPer, in fact I'm barely even smalltime, though I have a PvP character to play around on. Since in PvP you can change equipment and skills for free (aside from unlocking a few things, though as a huge PvEer I have lots of the things unlocked), I like to play around with builds and simply like filling up my Balthazar faction bar, as it makes the hero window look prettier.

Zaishen Challenge gets old when I want to team up with others, and I don't do HA and Team Arenas/Elite are primarily trappers (I have a PvE ranger who has done trapping, it gets old after a while). That leaves Random Arenas, which are extremely fun, except that 3 out of 5 groups will leave you.

I think it would be better idea to allow a bufferzone for those who do leave due to emergency etc and not actually raging...

like give a three strikes/time period before knocking down someones title a point or something like that.

LOL knocking someone's title down would be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Short of that, nothing can stop me from raging. Then again, I could just "DC" against that, so gg.

Lol, stupidest thing i've ever "heard" was your name. Second, you're the main reason these people want your sorry carcass to get punished for your childish "raging". Your about as brave to continue playing with whatever team your handed to win as you are about showing who your IGN name is so that you won't get flamed for being a sore loser.

I say if you leave before the first minute you have to wait 5-10 mintues before you can re-enter. Would cut down on the people that do it just to be annoying.

QFT.

Best summary of my viewpoint I've seen yet.

How do you decide who's a rage quitter? It's an unpoliceable policy, unless it were set to unjustly screw over everyone across the board.

Anyhow no player should be forced to play with a team he doesn't like. I'd rather see punishment of bad skillbars/gear in RA rather than rage quitters. Bad players in RA ruin my fun way more than rage quitters do, so why should they get off scott free yet punish the rage quitters (whom the former drive to doing that)? Unfortunately that would also be an unpoliceable policy.
